Brave New World

Following a two year hiatus, we are finally ready, willing, and able to get back to work here at Iaconagraphy Press. Some of you may have wondered: why the long silence and period of inactivity? Well, there have been a lot of factors in play, but the only two worth talking about are those concerning my health (and, consequently, Connla’s health as well) and our forced move off of Bluehost.

Pressures from the outside world which were beyond our control and which will no longer receive the benefit of our breath (or typing) here or anywhere else in our online sphere of influence (but of which many of you are well aware) led to a steady decline in my health over a five year period, beginning in September of 2018. This decline, coupled with the lasting triggers and influences of the aforementioned unworthy-of-further-mention outside pressures, led to a situation in which I found my faith largely shattered, and Connla suffered likewise. We found ourselves unwilling and unable to practice, much less to write, and we steadily fell away from a primarily Norse-focused Practice as a consequence. Due to these circumstances, the vast majority of previously scheduled titles found themselves hovering in limbo, if not in fact permanently shelved.

Just as we were recovering from the trials and tribulations of the last paragraph, prepared to relaunch not only Iaconagraphy Press but also to unleash some fantastic new stuff out into the wild, our web host, Bluehost, developed unfair hosting policies which forced us to hurriedly salvage sixteen years worth of various online “stuff”, including this site and the former Heidhr Craft site (now Heidhr Craft: Syrenity). Thankfully, we were able to find a fantastic new web host (InMotionHosting), and now here we are!

So what is new and what has changed, besides our web host?

Pagan titles–both non-fiction and fiction–remain our focus here at Iaconagraphy Press, but rather than operating within a “Norse themic stratosphere”, we will now largely be operating under the “umbrella” of our newly founded Witchcraft Tradition: Syrenity, or Syrene Witchcraft. This will enable us to be even more all-inclusive, multi-culturally-focused, empathetic, and compassionate in our offerings in the hopes of spreading more and more Light and Love out there into a universe which needs such things so desperately.

You will notice that with our brave new location we also have a brave new look. This is intended to clarify the intents and purposes of Iaconagraphy Press: we are, first, foremost, and always, a press, publishing the works of Pagan authors who prefer to “think outside the box”, and who encourage their readers to do likewise. Some of Connla’s art, loved by many, is still offered herein; more will likely be offered in future in printable and other formats via our sister site, Heidhr Craft: Syrenity, as will oracle card sessions and things of that nature. Meanwhile, both here and on our sister site, you will find our offerings of digital publications widening, in the form of future PDF releases, similar to Turning the Wheel, which is currently available on this site.

We hope you will join us in our celebration of this brave new journey on which we are set to embark and that you will continue to enjoy the offerings of Iaconagraphy Press and its subsidiaries in the years yet to come!

Michelle Iacona

Michelle Iacona is a 40-something author and digital artist whose inspiration is drawn from many things: great works of fantasy literature and cinema; a childhood spent pouring over science fiction novels, television, and film; too many nights as a college student and teenager playing role playing games with family and friends; likewise, too many nights as an adult spent adventuring in online games; one-too-many encounters with the paranormal; nearly thirty years’ experience with Tarot, divination, and Pagan Paths, and a firm belief that mermaids and faeries might just really exist….
